Ian had been underweight and scrawny since he was a child, weighing just 52kg at his heaviest. He had never been interested in exercise and had given little attention to his eating and lifestyle habits until one day, he decided enough was enough as he glanced in the mirror at his "skinny fat" self. He began doing weights with the intention of bulking up and looking good. He did not have the luxury of having a personal trainer during his fitness journey and was self-taught referencing magazines and YouTube videos. It took Ian a long time to filter through all the misinformation out there and ultimately construct a physique that he was satisfied with through trial and error and trying all kinds of fad diets. Ian has come a long way from being a scrawny boy to growing muscular mass and losing body fat. This gave him more self-confidence and a higher quality of life.
Nowadays, Ian believes that living a healthy lifestyle is about more than simply looking good; it is also about caring for one's physical and mental well-being with the benefits lasting even as people age. Ian aspires to help others realise the advantages of living a balanced and healthy lifestyle by sharing his experience and dispelling fitness myths. His approach to coaching clients is to treat each as a unique individual, investing time and effort in getting to know them first so that he can create personalised programmes for optimal results. He also follows up with clients on their fitness progress regularly.
