Sre began a regular fitness routine at the age of 16, during which he competed in both karate and rugby. He incorporated lifting and endurance drills into his lifestyle to help his sport performance. And it slowly became an addiction, which he says is one the best things that happened to him as it transformed a skinny kid into a fitness junkie.
Every step of Sre's fitness journey provides him with another opportunity to gain knowledge. As he put it, "There are always new ways to upgrade oneself and adapt to make it a lifestyle." Although old-school dedication and perseverance are necessary for fitness, these days you can get in shape without ever leaving your house. When it comes to training his clients, Sre regards their views of themselves as more important than the numbers on paper. Even if they experience euphoria but the result falls short of their hopes, they are still on the right path. Keep being consistent in pushing the limits and one day, results will appear. Maintaining fitness is an ongoing process but with dedication and perseverance, anyone can reach their goals.
Tell us about one client on whom you had the biggest influence.
During my fourth year as a personal trainer, I met Subargh, who became one of my clients. Just like I used to be – he was skinny, had little experience with exercise programmes or the gym, worked a desk job and was depressed as a result of his situation in life. He hired me as his personal trainer to show him the ins and outs of creating and implementing exercise programmes. In the beginning, we were hardly even acquaintances. Like me, he was an introvert. He made much more progress in his physical appearance in just two months with me than he had over many years on his own, and this shifted the dynamic. He started working out with me six days a week. As opposed to hanging out with his pals, he prefers to train with me. As we learned more about each other, we began to realise how much we have in common. As time went on, we became closer… almost like brothers. He was even able to completely recover from his depression. We made strides forward together. He has since been at his physical and mental peak.
