Sunrise Run Wise with Andres Mayorga

About the Programme

Spanning across 4 Saturday mornings, participants will learn the fundamentals of running and the different running mechanics for outdoor and indoor. Learn how to train safely for different distances such as 3km-5km-10km races through the different components ranging from mobility exercises, drills to strength and conditioning workout.

Train with Andres Mayorga, Senior Group Fitness Instructor who is certified in Functional Training, Reformer Pilates, PTA Global Trainer, TRX and Master Trainer for Cycling. Currently studying for International Running Coach with USECA, Andres has been running for 5 years and participated in various races such as Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon, 2XU Compression Run, Marina Run and more.

Session 1: Preparation and Warmup before Running
Date: January 6th

  • Explore the importance of dynamic movements in preparing muscles and joints.
  • Discover how to determine your maximum heart rate (HR) and training zones.
  • Learn essential cool-down techniques post-run.

Session 2: Types of Running
Date: January 13th

  • Dive into the theory and practice of different run types, including long runs, stamina runs, speed runs, and recovery runs.
  • Understand how various running types are crucial for preparing for any distance.

Session 3: Strength and Conditioning
Date: January 20th

  • Gain insights into specific muscle group training exercises tailored for running.
  • Learn why strength and conditioning are vital for injury prevention and improved running efficiency.

Session 4: Tips and Tricks Before Running
Date: January 27th

  • Receive practical advice on pre-run, during-run, and post-run nutrition.
  • Get guidance on selecting the right attire for running and learn about essential dos and don'ts.
  • Celebrate the final session with an outdoor run around Marina Bay starting and ending at The Cube Asia Square, where you can put your newfound knowledge into practice.
